How did we do it?
All poboys were ordered at 11 a.m. and picked up within 20 minutes. Upon arrival to the PoV offices, each sandwich was immediately sliced by the moderator and placed on labeled plates. No judges knew which sample was from which shop, and all judges selected samples in random order. Judges awarded a score from 1 to 5 for each poboy in six separate categories. The scores were then tallied to achieve an average.
Judges were chosen on a volunteer basis from inside our own office. And, hey, we’re no experts. Go try it for yourself, and let us know who was at the top of your list. Sorry to any poboy shop that did not get selected
for the judging. While we wanted to sample everyone in town, that would simply be too much to eat at one sitting. PoV
