TARC Restaurant

After enjoying a satisfying lunch you should order a little something sweet to go. The restaurant also serves as a retail venue
for Sweet Sensations Confections, another division of TARC. High quality chocolates, fudge, specialty candies and
freshly made cakes are
a little slice of heaven.

My food snob compadre and I were riding around looking for a place to review when he pointed and said, “Oh, oh, oh. Let’s go to the TARC Restaurant.” I thought it was a great idea and we were on our way. We sat down and the waitress took our drink order. They scored points right away. Instead of just listening to our order, the waitress had a mini menu where she circled our order. How many times has a restaurant gotten your order wrong? Well, it won’t happen here.

We selected our entrees and after a quick wait, we received our meals. I ordered the roast beef poboy with fries while my friend
ordered a fried shrimp platter. I got a little taste of the roast beef sauce before digging in to the sandwich and it was wonderful. The sauce was great; it was nice and thick and had a creamy texture. I picked up the sandwich, “Whoa,” this poboy was loaded with meat to fill up that great Best Bakery bread. But, it was going to be messy. If you like a roast beef poboy that requires you to use a roll of paper towels during the course of your meal, then you’ll love this sandwich.

The shrimp from the fried shrimp platter were fried perfectly. The nice sized shrimp were butterflied then dipped in a wet batter and fried to a golden crisp. The fries were great too. Both fried for the perfect amount of time, neither was over or undercooked. The shrimp platter also came with some of the same fries as well as a roll and small side salad. The bread was a delicious sweet roll that tasted freshly made. The small salad was made of iceberg lettuce and tomato. Perhaps adding some romaine lettuce or spinach would liven the salad up a bit.

It’s obvious that the TARC Restaurant has a system in place that guarantees consistency. Have you ever been to a restaurant one time and loved the food, then to your disappointment when you returned the next time it just wasn’t the same? In my experience, this has never happened to me at this restaurant. Whatever they are doing just works. Include this in your lunch rotation and you won’t be disappointed. PoV
